Scott did such a fantastic job creating such a beautiful piece for our entryway. I can't stop looking at it! We asked for a custom piece that would match some of the existing furniture in our new home, and he did exactly that. He took time out to come to our house to take a look at our furniture, and in the end made a piece that matched our style and fit in wonderfully with our living area. He was able to make a perfectly sized storage bench for our entryway, with a matching coat rack. The contrasting walnut and curly maple make a beautiful combination. Scott was great to work with, always gave us updates and pictures on progress, and completed the project promptly. Would definitely recommend him to anyone!
I hired Scott Barringer of S. Barringer Fine Furniture to construct and install custom built in dining seating with storage. I am thrilled both with the end result of the product as well as the professionalism Mr. Barringer displayed. He kept me in the loop with updates and even pictures of the progress, demonstrating his desire to produce a high quality product by paying attention to the details. I would recommend him to everyone and will be using him for future projects.

After some updates to our home, we found that we had a few empty areas to fill. We had in mind a hall table, and, maybe a bookcase to complement it.We were lucky enough to find Scott's beautiful website. After looking at other woodcrafter's furniture, we found that we kept coming back to S. Barringer Fine Furniture. None of the others could compare to the beautiful examples of Scott's work.
When we met with Scott, he showed us many woods, and combinations of woods that we never imagined before! We fell in love with curly maple, which we had never heard of. It is so unique. In certain light it resembles a rippling brook. He showed us what it would look like paired with cherry wood. The combination of those two woods together is so stunning! Scott has an example of that combination here on his website. For the bookcase, Scott suggested that maybe we would like that also in the same combination, but, designed in a different way with cherry kind of taking the star billing. I don't want to forget to mention that Scott used no nails or screws whatsoever in these designs. Instead, the pieces are fit together with what are called "dovetails". As well as being a practical way to attach the pieces, it makes for a gorgeous decorative feature of the piece. We sure learned a lot about wood, and, woodworking from Scott!
Throughout the making of this fine furniture, Scott kept us updated on the progress, and even sent pictures so we could see the project taking place. It was pretty exciting!
I would wholeheartedly recommend S. Barringer Fine Furniture for any wood project you may have in mind. Whether you know exactly what you want, or, need an expert artisan to introduce you to many other ideas, I'm confidant that you would be extremely satisfied with his creations. Scott's love of wood is reflected in his projects.
As for the business end of the project , Scott was concise and thorough in his explanation of how the project would unfold, how long it would take, and the cost involved. Sometimes he would suggest more affordable options regarding facets of the project that we were unaware of.
We will definitely think of contacting Scott when we have another wood project in mind. Right now I'm thinking that I really need a larger shelf unit to accommodate my indoor plants. I know Scott will have some good ideas!

Asked Scott to make an entryway chest that would look nice, while also serving as a location to sit while putting shoes on and taking them off (as well as storage).
Chest came out great-we went with Cherrywood which will darken over time, so it's only going to get better-thanks Scott.
